Thunderbolts has two extra scenes after the movie that hint at the Fantastic Four and the next Avengers team in the MCU.

Marvel’s Thunderbolts is finally in theaters! The movie ends with two exciting end-credit scenes that hint at big things coming next in the Marvel Universe.
Characters like Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, and US Agent are all featured in the film. Even though they don’t always get along, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine forces them to cooperate.
The scene in the middle credits is humorous. It depicts Red Guardian (Alexei Shostakov) at a supermarket, contentedly examining a box of cereal featuring his face. He mentioned wanting to be famous earlier in the film, and now he is—at least somewhat!
More somber is the last post-credit scene. It takes place at the Thunderbolts’ new base fourteen months later. Sam Wilson, the new Captain America, is attempting to revive the Avengers name while they are fighting over their true identities. The team still includes Bob, who can now control his superpowers. Abruptly, an unidentified airplane shows up—and it’s a ship bearing the Fantastic Four’s iconic “4” emblem!
Then, “The New Avengers and Bob will return” appears on the screen.
The upcoming film Fantastic Four: First Steps, which stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, has a link to this scene. In addition, it prepares for the release of Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027 and Avengers: Doomsday, which will feature Robert Downey Jr.’s return as Victor Von Doom on May 1, 2026. Marvel’s latest multiverse narrative now heavily features the Thunderbolts!
